Default Next Generation issues...

I have been using my Next Generation orion steel for almost a year now. I use the Eikon metered ps. When I first bought the machine, dan told me to run it at 8.00 and it should run fine. Over the last few months, I have had to change the springs and make the necessary adjustments to the contact screw. Now I can no longer seem to avoid the follow thru. I run it at about 6.50 for regular black and grey work and about 7.00 for color pieces. But I still have like 3-8 on my follow thru. Anyone got any advice?

changing the springs would definitely change the speed a machine runs. My advice is dont look at the numbers and run the machine where it feels right. Numbers don't mean a great deal if the machine isn't running correctly and definitely dont mean anything if the machine IS running correctly.

Did you change the angle of the contact screw? I have had this same problem trying to get the numbers to match up with what they were tuned with. But I can still get my follow through back to 0. My machines still run great even though the numbers don't match up to the original. I just figured their getting broke in and this is where they want to run.

Good point. I will mess with them again when it starts to run funny. Right now it runs great. Gets the job done in a good, clean, and timely manner. Thanks for the input.

Dan will also tell you that volts don't matter, it's all in the Hertz and duty cycle, you should pick up some copys of Machine Gun Magizine, NG's are based on the Eikon Green Monster 4 machine set up, so if you want to pay attention to the numbers, you need to know what they are first. read the green monster atricles
