Default In Memorium, Benson my loving dog passed away

Hey , just wanted to share my story of my best friend Benson.
He has been the most wonderful, happiest, friendliest, laid back dog and have so many great memories of him, He loved his food so much , loved walks to the beach, loved his car rides, never once ran away,we could trust him completely with the garage open all day to not wonder off and was a joy to have known him and i will never forget him. I now have this empty void in my life now he's gone.I still walk outside expecting to see him.

It was funny how sometimes he would think he was human with the way he would sit on the couch with us, or sit on chairs (Even if they were way to small for him to fit on but he still squeezed himself into it anyways LOL) , he just wanted to be with us and thats what made him happiest.

On 31/12/11 he was put down due to severe arthritis in his back left knee joint which had grown bone spurs, he could not walk on that leg anymore, he was on meds for a while to ease the pain and that worked, and we thought everything was ok then out of the blue he just detoriorated so quickly one night , next morning took him to the vets when we were told the bad news, but he is no longer in pain and distress. RIP Benno ,sorely missed forever, thanks for the memories.

I know the AON family is very dog orientated and just felt like i had to tell some people about him. saddest moment in my life seeing him put down.

Loved the beach

I took this late in the evening when he wasnt feeling well from the meds,he never took a bad photo, glad we have so many of him!

I am really sorry for your great loss ,sounds like Benson was loving life and happy as could be.We also got some bad news the other day when we went to vet,our husky is 15 and the vet said she has a heart condition and started her on meds,he wants to see her in two more weeks.,its just hard when we get this type of news, but we will do everything to keep her comfortable.Hang in there,Benson will always be with you and your family in spirit.Take Care...

Thanks for the kind words,

yea its definitley a shock at first, but doing everything you can to keep her comfortable like you said, your dog will appreciate that and understand you are trying to help her, ours did, we basically hand fed him and held the water dish for him because he couldnt walk far. Huskies are beautiful dogs , a lady near me has two, although bit hot for them in our summer weather lol. Hope it's all good news for you though. peace.
