Hey you got a red moon! why does that happen? It happened again a few nights ago.

Q: What does a red moon signify? Perhaps a change in the weather?

A: A red moon means there is a high concentration of particles in the air, such as dust and smoke. These particles “scatter” away the short and intermediate wavelengths of light (violet, blue and yellow), leaving only the longer wavelengths (orange and red) to reach our eyes. A red moon does not mean there is a change coming in the weather.




Some people call it blood on the moon.

GreenFaerie - just a bit of advise if you don't mind. You should experiment with shutter speeds. If you set your camera on a tripod at night and just keep the shutter open for 15 seconds or so, you'll get a much more natural looking shot rather than using flash. It will capture all of that natural light that way. It really makes for awesome photography. cool pics anyhow though! I really want to do some shooting in a cemetery.
