Re: T-shirt: Help a Pit Bull, Neuter Michael Vick
I havn't posted on here yet, just lurked around for a while. I figured this would be a good first post topic. I just watched all those movies on myspace and just now got done crying. I own two pits right now and my roomate has one so we have three in our house. No matter what I do with these dogs and no matter how well behaved they are I can't take them anywhere without people pulling there kids away from them or just walking to other side of the street. All they see is a guy covered in ink and 3 pits and it scares the s&!t out of them. They don't see how they are the biggest babies in the world. Even when I get them riled up and play with them all I have to do is say ow even in a joking tone and they all lay down and cowar cause they think they just hurt daddy. Thankyou for posting that site about the shirt. I'm going to buy like 7 of those so I can wear one at the shop everyday.
The little brown one and the white one our mine. The white one is a rescue. No one wanted that cute little bastard cause he's deaf. The tall guy is my roomate's dog. Not really sure what he's mixed with. We think lab. The other two are pure.

Re: T-shirt: Help a Pit Bull, Neuter Michael Vick
Man....good to have you here!!!
I am dogless right now, but I will definitely get a rescue pit someday in the near future.
My fiancee volunteers at the local no kill shelter, so we see a LOT of good dogs get placed. They just placed a rescue pit with only one eye into a new home...she was 8 weeks old and the sweetest thing imaginable.
No one who has spent time with pits fears them...its only people who read the stupid news stories and never bother to look closer.
Honestly, I blame the media fear machine...its just designed to create over sensationalism to sell air time...and the victims are all pitbulls everywhere who get viewed as monsters.
I have written a number of letters to local and national news channels telling them point blank that if they don't stop their biased coverage of issues like this, they will lose the viewing of the entire animal loving community. I know they don't give a crap...but you gotta do something.

Re: T-shirt: Help a Pit Bull, Neuter Michael Vick
What really disgused me was the way Vick handled the "losers". There are reports that he's killed over 16 dogs by drowning them, hanging or bashing their heads into the ground.
He needs to go to jail with T-Bag.

From ESPN.Com
Quote:
Would Vick be sent to jail if he is convicted?
Yes. It's hard to imagine any other outcome. The charges are serious, and the evidence against Vick presented at trial will be nasty. The government's case includes evidence that Vick and his cohorts "tested" pit bulls for ferocity. If the dogs failed the test, the indictment charges, they were executed by hanging or drowning. In one case, with Vick present, the indictment says a dog was slammed to the ground until it was dead. In another incident, a dog was soaked with a hose, then electrocuted. Those aren't the sort of transgressions that lead to probation and community service. It's the kind of behavior that results in punishment, and the punishment will be jail time.

I doubt Vick will do any serious time. Look at everything that Tank Johnson did to his pits and he got to play in the super bowl.
