Default Thoughts on collaborations

I have been seeing a lot of new collaborations lately. I've been wondering how artists feel about them. I have recently been tossing around the idea of getting one done. How do you decide who to team up? Do you want artists with similar styles or do you want different styles so they learn from each other? Should you pick one artist and let that artist decide who he would like to work with? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Never done one, but if I did, I would be more concerned about how much I like and respect the other artist over his style.

I never did one. But I would select based on each one's strong technical ability. Maybe one is a subject matter expert (Tim Orth + Bewbies) and the other is just amazing with color. Or maybe you mix a color expert and someone with amazing line work.

I have a partial done with Albie Rock and Brandon Bond.. I like it and can't wait until it is finished.. I find that both artists work together and their styles actually enhance the other's.. Then again anyone getting a collab with Brandon being one of the artists will get an outstanding piece..

That kind of ironic, I was thinking of teaming up Mr. Rock and Mr. Bond. They both seem to excel at colorful artwork. That was possibly the understatement of the century.

I love the concept of the collaberation!!! One of the things that attracted me to All or Nothing was their take on collaborating. It's like getting a huge piece in half the time. With two artists you also get different ideas from all different directions. An idea that one of the artists might have may be one that the other hasn't thought of!! In the end you get a beautiful result that you would not have gotten from just one of them!! I am yet to get one but I hope to get a collaboration in the future!!!

At first I was not very open to the concept, but the more I see the more I want one.
