Default Tattoo Scene in Iraq?

Hey, anyone have links or articles about tattooing in Iraq? A few years ago ITA did a great feature on Cuba tattooing, and Tattoo did a ice feature on Kosovo tattooing years ago.
So again any help on tattoos in Iraq is greatly appreciated.

I thought tattooing was frowned upon in the muslim religion? Not to mention war is still a little fresh for them to be tattooing over there don't you think?

*edit: I stand corrected. Here you go.

There are several military personnel that are tattooing over here. Some of which are reserve soilders that worked at shops before being sent off to active duty. Some of which are just guys that are messing people up becuase they just started tattooing over here. As far tattooing in Iraq and out in the city, yes it happens. I have seen a few Iraqis with tattoos on their arms. They are happy to show it off when they see that I have a sleeve. Most of the time they think my tattoo is fake because of the bright colors in it.

Haha, I guess your making fun? Oh well...

I am hitting South America this year, and plan to extensively research the scene there. My brother goes there for work alot and has seen many "american style " shops opening up, while also photographing kids on the street tattooing. My brother is a non-tattoo artist, but has been very helpful in scouting out international tattoo information for me.

best.
