--------------------------------

I love what you do for Pits so much! You actually inspired me to "do" something myself. I've volunteered at a local animal shelter for about 9 months now as their dog photographer, but I wanted to help MORE. I wanted to help CREATIVELY. A few weeks ago I posted a graphic that I made from one of my photographs on your website's message board. I started thinking bigger, redesigned it into a more "graphic" image, and uploaded it to a site called Printfection. It's similar to CafePress, if you're familiar with them. So now I have this cool graphic t-shirt design, and I'd like to get it OUT there. ALL of the proceeds go directly to the Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter here in Dearborn, Michigan.

We're trying to raise money to pay for an enclosure that would give the dogs a place to run and play when they are out on walks. To me this is a necessity, because there's only so much freedom to be found at the end of a 5 foot leash. Because our shelter is the only one in the area that doesn't euthanize based on breed, we have tons of Pits who in turn have TONS of energy! Think how happy a little bit of running around free in the grass will make them!

Anyway, here is a link to the store: www.printfection.com/detroitdogloverapparel

If you could spread the word about it a little I'd REALLY appreciate it

Have a great day, Brandon

Hi Brandon,

My name is Rock Cowles. I work at Tattoo Wearhouse in Spartanburg, South Carolina with Sean Adkins. I wrote you once before about the Tattoo Petition at www.TattooPetition.com.

I have a fifteen month old neutered male Pitbull named Grumpy The Eunuch. Grumpy is a dark chocolate brindle with a white soul patch and a little white on his chest. He is gorgeous, sweet, and rowdy as hell. I have two other older terrier-mixes and have worked with dogs my entire life, but never owned a Pit before.

My wife is a petite Filipina, named Marecho. I have a number of health problems and we realized when Grumpy was about nine months old that he was too much for us both physically and timewise and placed him in what we were led to believe was a good home. It wasn't. I got a call from our Humane Society and they had picked him up near the fairgrounds where dog fighting is a problem. The asshole who got him from me had not changed the microchip information before he left his wife and abandoned or lost Grumpy.

Grumpy was malnourished, weighing 45 pounds when he should have been 80 or 90, skin and bones, infested with parasites, scarred, timid, and had been hit by a car and snapped his back left leg. It broke our hearts. The Humane Society puts down ALL PIT BULLS, but since he was still chipped to me, I was able to "reclaim" him. I dropped four hundred dollars on him that day to save his life and put him on the road to recovery.

He is strong, healthy, playful and sweet now. He is very protective of our yard, but generally friendly in public. I had surgery on both legs last week and he is not helping me heal. He needs a home with a fenced yard and an experienced Pit Bull owner. He has no clue what my neighbor's three year old son is and bark ferociously at him, scaring the s&!t out of all of us. That might change with more socialization, but who's kid should we use?

He is crate trained and a quick learner. He is still too powerful for my wife and two rough and tumble for the smaller older dogs. Please call me at (864) 266-8188 if you know of anyone who might give him a good home. He has a crate.

I would like some money for him, which I will donate to a rescue group or Humane Society. I let him and his old crate go for $135.00 and the guy didn't pay enough to care or take care of him. Free dogs too often become victims or abuse or neglect fast.

There are pictures of him at

http://www.kowulz.com/grumpy.htm

Thanks,

Rock

just a lil success story in my end of the world , recently a blue and white pit named Layla was abandoned at a local vet...my buddy john sent me a picture of her and i put together a bulletin with some info...i called the vet to get an update on her yesterday and the secretary informed me that that within the past week a huge waiting list had been put together of families wanting to adopt Layla(longer then any they had ever dealt with)..she will go home with one lucky family on the 20th of dec. and she will have a good christmas,MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!....the vet passed my info onto the NC SPCA and i got a call from them last night...they applauded my efforts .... in turn i gave the credit to All Or Nothing Pit Rescue...thanks for the inspiration...now i will shut the F up and go help another pup...

hey guys, please be careful when chosing a spot on flea treatment. i just had to bathe 3 of my dogs twice. i normally use frontline but got caught in a pinch and went to wal-mart and bought "seargent's gold - flea and tick squeeze on for dogs". i put it on them and almost immediately noticed that they were running around and whimpering and trying to bite at the areas where it had been applied. i called seargents emergency hotline and was told to bathe them all twice with a dish soap. i did that and it has helped but i can tell its still bothering them. the lady at the hotline said that the dogs were experiencing a burning or "pins and needles" sensation. she said that she didnt work for seargents but for an animal medical service and that my complaint was common due to the chemicals and the formula. i felt so bad for my girls and just thought if i can keep someone else's pet from experiencing that, that i should.

Just sent to me today about the ANNIE VIDEO,

I have seen your youtube video on lady bug. makes me
more pissed off and sick then you'll ever know. I am
trying to do my own thing in helping these abused and
neglected pit's.If u have any advice or help id be
more than happy. I can tell you a story of me and a
true friend. I will send another emial i really dont
know how to get to you guys ive tried and now i have
this email adress i hope it wors. i will send my story next.

And his story.....
I can't beleive how fast you have replied to my
e-mail. Wow i am so suprised you guy's are really
awsome for your understanding and just put down
everything f@#k the world im gonna help a dog today. I
have a ton of people with me in the fight to protect
probably the coolest most loving dog's ever that most
people don't even have an idea on what they really are
and who they are as dog's and part of my and a lot of
people's family's, to us there human. We all are
fighting and putting out are names on anything to help
them. I am from chicago, illinois and this is my
story. My pit his name was sputnik. I was dating this
punk girl named pinky and we both were off the beaten
path. You probably know how it is when your young.
Partying is all you know, your job sucks, and you live
in a s&!tty place but your trying as hard as you can
to be. Well one day we thought it would be a great
idea to have a dog a new member of are family. When i
was a kid i had a pit his name was duke, the coolest
dog ever with so many memories. We had pets growning
up and now it was time for are own. It's been years
you know, and the way that we love animals is
something most people should. Well we reaserched and
researched all over the dam place. I spent countless
nights in internet cafe's smoking cig's and drinking
redbull, cause i didnt own a computer. I came across a
couple dogs, i wanted a dog that had no chance of
adoption people would just look at and say no. I found
one. His name was chex's, he was 6 months old. I din't
find him on the internet though. I found him in a
f@#king dumpster near wisconson after leaving a bar. I
found out his name was chex from a lady who was at the
bar who said she knew the asshole owner who fought
them.Let's just say that guy won't do s&!t like that
again. My name is Tony. When i looked at the poor
thing he was bloody and was black and white. He had 2
black rings around his eyes and skin as white as snow
like if it was a perfect christmas, and the moonlight
was shining. f@#king amazing. Then shortly after i
cleaned him up.i was huggin him and playing with him
and i noticed a cross tattoo'd on his back, well it
looked like a tat but it was natural. I could not
fukin beleive it so i said right then and there he was
mine im gonna take care of him, it was godsent. He was
the most loveable thing you could ever see i have
pictures of him i could send but i first gotta
download them onto the comp. I was at a petco in the
city and this guy wanted to adopt him from me, he
thought i worked there. I said no he's mine but
there's a ton out there just like him or there worse
off.You know i dont have everything but i had enough
love for him to make him happy. That dog and me would
hang out all the time. I'd get in a fight with the old
lady (my girlfreind) and hang out with him you know.
I'd go drive with him he'd hang his arm out the window
checking out the female dog's. I'd take him to the
lake just chill and it was like a best freind was
there, like my best freind steve. So i guess this dog
took his place. I didn't have to leash him, i'd let
him free and there was a trust there. He'd play with
little kids, he'd be so nice and calm and if there was
danger he knew when to act.I'd let him go outside by
himself on the porch and he new better then to piss me
off and leave that porch, it was the weridest thing
ever. It was real trust between us both. Well one day
i was driving home i had a bad feeling. Pinky was
outside screaming. some thugs ran my dog over and
sputnik ran into a park. I parked my car in the middle
of the street and ran. I found him bloody as hell,
out his nose and his tummy was ripped open. I carried
him all the way home about a mile running. Blood all
over me it was dramatic like something out of the
movies. I blocked eevrything out. but me, sputnik, and
my girlfreind. We drove him right away to the vet. I
named him sputnik after spuds cause he almost looked
like him, not only that the day i got him in the news
paper it read sputnik about a russian sattalite so i
thought they went hand in hand. Plus it was a very
cool name i think to me it was original. He didn't
die, i wouldn't let it happen. The dam vet said to put
him down i said no. I paid more than i made in a month
like over 2,000 i didnt even make that in 2 months
then. Well he survived he was stitched up and nothing
was wrong but a scar, they said to put him to sleep
just because i couldnt afford the surgery but f@#k
them i'll pay it ive been worse, they can f@#k off.
Well then after sometime something terribly wrong
happened, i cant even talk about this, im not even a
good writer, i just want to honor him for what he was
to me, it's actually really sentimental like i lost a
family member. So here i am and with my freinds and
tons of people willing. theres nothing we wont do. I
saved him at first, but he saved me last im sorry i
don't wanna talk about this. But either way im here
for the life of a pit and to help and theres nothing
stopping me at all. I meen there real as me or you and
they meen a lot to people all over who do undertsand.
At one time i was an outcast and maybe i still am and
thats not gonna change but im human and there still
pit's. The last night i saw him he picked up the ace
of spades off the street and he gave it to me this
rugged old playing card that's been weathered. I got
it tattoo'd on my leg untill i can afford a real tat
to totally honor him. But that ta meens more than
anything it's an ace but its old and weatherd you
see.But if i know him he doesnt care about looks or
cost, or anything we do pretty much, as long as the
meening of it was in the right "place".
Tony
