Default Getting a "chrome" look

Any suggestions for how to get a metallic look in a tattoo? I'm planning on using a lot of blue, working up to white highlghts. I have intenze's silver but find it to be useless. I'm shooting for chrome and just want some suggestions if anyone has any. My boss, who doesn't tattoo, told the customer it was no problem to imitate chrome exactly.

depends what the "chrome" is on. chrome is like a mirror so it just reflects what is in front of it. on round parts this effect will fisheye. the best bet is to get a chrome paRt and take some flicks with no flash to study it. in general and basic terms chrome is going to reflect the horizon line as well as any visible trees cars people or whatever that is in the way. i do not use this method any more but my go-to for chrome was always as follows: wigly black line across the center of whatever horizontally. then fade that black down into gray or brown or green or whatever the color is on the ground. then from the top of the object fade a blue (sky) down into a light less saturated blue with white or whatever next to the black line. this represents a sky/horizon/ground transition from top to bottom.

ps. chrome is a reflection not really a color so even if you work in some monotone color scheeme remember what you are going for is a representation of a reflection as opposed to a color
