Default witch hazel or glycerin?

what do you think is better for black and grey?

I know people that use both, some that use just water and others that use their green soap mixture. I've always used just water but have played around with different mixtures.

Any preferences?

Why would you use glycerin?

I met a guy while I was in Vegas that said he uses glycerin for his grey washes and it makies it smoother than anything else.

I personally never tried it.I use a little green soap/distilled water mix.

this may be another one i get b1tc4ed at for (like my Vaseline thing ,,!,, lol ) but i use bactine, its 2% lidocane and blends real nicely. i just dump it into a old ink bottle...it kinda numbs while ya tattoo....so my theory goes, either way it works good for me and i havnt had any healing problems as of yet

that's odd. Never heard of using bactine before. Bet that gets pricey. One more thing to add to the list of s&!t to buy. What works for you, works for you. I use water. Gets the job done, have plenty of it, and the customers dont complain. It's a tattoo.........IT's supposed to hurt!!!!!!!!! That's part of the fun!!!!!!!!

I like to use witch hazel I like the way it works. The person I learned this trick from says that the witch hazel is an astringent therefore it constricts the tissue and allows less pigment in and also dilutes the black I dont know the truth in his theory but it does tend to work better than water for me.

i use a mixture of Distilled H20 n Glycerin and a small amount of Hazel. Glycerin adds a viscosity i like to my wash so its not so watery. It will suspend th pigment and will not let it settle so easily.
Beware if u ever hear of ppl using Everclear or th likes of...it was accepted earlier on in the Tattoo history and from wut i understand some artist still use that "formula" but stay away from that and using Green soap like products that have a "Detergent" like property(Pre op scrub). My oppinion.
Hazel, h20, glycerin r very compliant wen it comes to the body reacting/healing nicely. Bactine...well i would of never guess som1 would use that stuff like that but if it works for som1...
The less chemicals and anesthetics to mingle with Ink(Pigment) th better i say. keep it simple man
