Re: tattoo gun............
it's really not that uncommon, i always keep it out of sight, but that doesn't mean it's not on my person.

Re: tattoo gun............
Damn it.....fell for it.
on the subject....
I had a guy walk up to me on the street and say
"nice tats homie, check mine out"
when I saw the sad image of what might have been a dragon wrapped around this poor fool's arm I politely replied..
"you know, I can fix that for you. I'm a local tattoo artist."
As I handed him my card he replied
"no thanks man I've already got a gun. I've been practicing on my neighbors."
I'm almost certain that kind of ignorance warrants public hanging.

Re: tattoo gun............
The place I work now, The boss keeps his shotgun above my station, just because I'm the first line of defense in the shop. I was tempted to get it out yesterday too when some scratcher came in wanting to buy ink off of us, and then proceeded to tell us he worked out of his apartment in the complex directly across the street from our shop.
and he repeatedly refered to his machines as "guns" even after we corrected him.

Re: tattoo gun............
LOL...people always look at me when i am in the room and someone refers to a machine as a "gun"....it is like the sound of nails on a chalkboard when i hear it.
It is funny how people can't figure it out after you have corrected them like 20 times!
I also have the same reaction now when i hear the craft of tattooing referred to as an "industry"
