Default Skin Candy blacklight ink

I've had a lot of people grumble when I ask them about this stuff.... what do you guys think of it? Is it really that dangerous? What can happen??

I've seen a couple of really cool blacklight tattoos. When it first came out, though, I heard nothing but horrible things about it. My guess was mostly from people that were making assumptions about it without actually knowing what they were talking about.

In the last year or so I haven't heard anything bad about it. I'm guessing it has either improved, or people started researching it before opening their mouths.

I, however, still no very little about what is in it, or how it is made.

This isn't skin candy, but it's a link about the ink.

i used it once at the first shop i worked at and hated it. it was too thin, i prefer thicker pigment. i have also noticed through looking at other tattoos that saturation is an issue. i dont know about skin candy or the chaemeleon ink in the article buffer linked but the brand that was at the shop i worked at absolutely could not be mixed with other ink brands. anyway, thats my 2 cents.

I've been trying to find the picture a friend of mine posted from a convention. It was a huge biomech back piece. Real nice. The inside was red, and had a little of the red UV ink in it. When a black light was on it, it was blended so that it looked like the dude's insides were glowing. Worked REALLY well.

That's the only good tattoo I've ever seen with it, though. The rest look like highlighters.

I made a thread asking for someone to post the picture again. As soon as they do, I'll repost it here.

My wife found the pics for me. They aren't very good pictures of it, but they kind of show what I was talking about with mixing them with regular ink.

And here is a video of the guy getting the tattoo:
