begginer
I have just begun trying to learn how to tattoo and i had a question about tribal filling. i an currently working on practice skin til i can save some money for an aprenticeship. for a large tribal what whould be a good size needle to use while filling is there a standing rule on needle depth. i dont want to sound stupid but i just want to learn right so i dont screw s&!t up.
one more thing is the machine set up dif as far as neddle return and power settings?
thanx

Re: begginer
get an apprenticeship. Don't tattoo anything. It won't help you in the least bit. Instead, focus on drawing and building a good portfolio that will be used to acquire an apprenticeship. Hustle, don't give up. It takes time, but if you want it bad enough, it'll happen. Look around these forums for posts about apprenticeships. You'll find tons of advice. Best of luck to you in acquiring one.

if it's for tattooing, read the tattoo school thread on here and you'll get an overwhelming response to that question

Re: begginer
OMG DUDE! dont waste any f@#king money on that "tattoo school" seriously. i work in clifton park and fix fallout from that place all the time. she charges like 5k for 6 weeks. you will leave with nothing more than a sense of feeling like you just got cheated out of five grand. there are a hundred (prb pretty close) shops in the albany area, start banging on doors. read connor blues post on how to get an apprenticeship, its very good. and yes, put down that machine from ebay, its going to do more harm than good right now.

alot. hahahahahaha. it depends on who it is and what they have to offer. its gonna be a good chunk of change, they are teaching you a life long trade. this s&!t doesnt just get handed out. if you are lucky (like i was) you can pay part up front and work off the rest. i was apprenticed by one of my friends (that sounds wierd, he owns 2 shops in the area, i did not apprentice in my friends basement hahaha), so it pays to know people. and step one is go out and get tattooed. remember: you gotta spend money to make money.
