Default managing artists

I had a question regarding how you guys manage your artists in regards to promotion. We are a small shop with only 2 artists and one of which is the owner. How do you handle promoting the shop and artists? Do artists promote themselves AND the shop or just themselves?
We are growing in the promotion aspect and any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I just got a job at a new place and I will be in this same situation. Personally I'm promoting both. I've been handing out cards with just the shop info and want to make this place as awesome as I know it can be and then some.

Owner promotes the shop and the artists (who are independent contractors) and the artists promote themselves. if you find an artist who is promoting the shop for you, then consider yourself lucky and give them a raise. especially if they dont steal and arent on drugs.
