I want my PITBULL back!
My boyfriend and business partner has been tattooing with the same Seth Ciferri "Pitbull" liner for so long, he can't even remember when he bought it. He thinks he got it somewhere between "98 and "02. When I first started tattooing he let me try his machine and I can honestly say it has taught me to be a better and faster artist. That machine has become part of our family
It's his third arm, and this week it started failing on him.
We are both very professional and well trained tattoo artists but when it comes to tuning a machine, I'd be luckier throwing it against the wall a few times until it started running again than using an allen key.
I wanna get him a new one, so I've been searching all over the internet and can't find one for sale new, I'm guessing they are discontinued. I have a few liners and they just don't come close to running as hard yet smooth as that beast of a liner!
Can anyone suggest a machine that will run like a Pitbull? Or is there a way I can get it tuned up by someone professional?
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Re: I want my PITBULL back!
ok, so i contacted a rep from Seth's website and she said the machines are guaranteed for life s long as they are not modified... there has been a few changes so i'm not sure if they can help... and yes i do tinker and i'm reading up on machines since it's obviously a weakness
Still, i think a new machine, even if it is back up, should be in order... so maybe can i get a few suggestions on liners that are hard fast and dependable?
Like i said he's been using the same machine for almost 10 years without having any major work done to it... that's ether miraculous or it says something for quality mechanics. I'm looking at a machine that looks like the one he has. It's a soba iron clipper.
I've heard good things about Soba machines... but I am also thinking about sticking with Seth Ciferri... It's a huge investment and I've made mistakes trying to pinch pennies before...
a machine won't make a bad artist good but can make a good artist... less frustrated
Anyway... thanks for the replies

Call them again and give them a true list about any hardware that has been modified or changed. They may do it for an additional cost to get it back to former status. It may run better than it ever has, more experience in building behind the ten additional years.
Seth makes the fastest, cleanest/sharpest, and most durable liners I have used. We have about 8 of his liners here at the shop and they run just as good today as they did on day one. Unmolested.

Re: I want my PITBULL back!
If it has has been modified then you pay for repair. If not, he'll take care of it.
If you are looking for another machine I would take a look at the other machines he is making. He makes really nice stuff and it is not expensive for what you get.

or compared to other machines from builders that aren't as proficient in building sweet tatty zappers!!! his customs are awesome and super solid, i cant speak for the workhorse models but i am sure he doesn't take a s&!t on those by any means.
