Default MySpace Trick

I know this isn't about this forum's tricks, but since several people have profiles it might be good info for people. Plus someone has had asked me about it..

First off you need to know a few things about HTML coding.. You can read up more on it at W3 Schools HTML 4.01 Reference. The HTML tags you will need to learn are:

- Defines an image (there is no close tag)

- Defines a paragraph (this is the open tag)

- Defines a paragraph (this is the closed tag)

Also you will also need to host your images somewhere. I recommend you use for this.

1 - Login to
2 - Upload an image to your account.
3 - After the file is uploaded, you will see three ways to link to the image.
4 - Open your favorite text editor (I use EditPad Lite
5 - Choose the HTML code. Example:
6 - Copy and Paste the HTML code into your favor text editor
7 - Logout of if you are only adding one image.
8 - Login to
9 - Click "Edit My Profile"
10 - Under "Edit Interests & Personality" tab choose which area you want the image to show up in.
11 - Click the "edit" link for that area. Say "About Me:"
12 - Figure out where you want to place the image.
13 - Copy and Paste the HTML code from your text editor to that location. By using the

tags you can center the image. The code you paste should look like this:

-- If you want the image aligned to the left or right, just edit the align to equal as such.
14 - Click "Preview"
15 - Verify that is where you want it placed and how you want it to look.
16 - If so click "Submit", if not click "Edit" and change what you need to change.

After you get comfortable with the above, experiment with adding color and other html items. If you want to view how other people have done things on an html level, after the page is displayed, click on your browser's toolbar -> "View" then "Source".

If there are any quesitons - ask and I will get back to ya..
