Naw not a joke my friend, I was the coolest in my school back then, the dude wasnt the best artist around but, he had a studio, and it was basically dont ask dont tell kinda deal......14 is kinda young I must agree and I wouldn't tattoo a client that age even if the parents did sign off on it! My parents didnt approve of tattoos back then so getting one under their name was NEVER gonna happen, but they have no choice but to accept it now since all three of their sons at least have two tattoos.....

I have 3 tattoos, done by 3 different artists who all used One, and were all at different skill levels, done around the same time period and they're all pretty grey. Dynamic and Kuro Sumi have all stayed much darker then the One. While I agree, there is no "secret ink", I would never let anyone use One on me or use it myself...

One can be a great ink for grey shading. It will be grey tho.
If a black black is used for the darkest darks blending out
into one ink it gets a little tricky, but it has a certain "look."
One at times takes on a "graphite" patina and if that's the
effect desired, can be stunning.
Using One for lining is really asking for trouble. Using One for
black fill is also asking for trouble. Lining will tend to blow out and
fade. Fill WILL fade. Well, actually, One is Graphite Grey, not black...
As an analogy, think of One as a harder grade pencil and Bill's black,
Or Dynamic black, as near charcoal in color...

So Waverly or Dyanamic would be a better ink for "true black"? No matter the method of how the ink was applied?

Waverly's = Bill's black. Bill is Waverly...
True black... well that's a bit extreme, unless of course
it's Eternal. (Grin) If you triple true black is it a National
crisis? (Grin agin')

What we're after here is what a tattoo artist can achieve
with specific pigment/inks and... One heals to a lighter tone
than Dynamic or Waverly given the same method of application,
in the same skin, same machine... blah, blah, blah.

An Artist may still vary the shade/tone of any ink from full
saturation to minimal saturation. The contrast of that
fade/gradation will depend on a number of factors, not the
least of which is how dark the full strength ink heals in the
skin...

One is simply a different tone of black. Lighter in value and
greyer in hue than either Waverly's or Dynamic's blacks.
A useful tool for proper application in my treasure chest...
for sure.

With any black ink you will never see an absolutely true black in a healed tattoo. The transparency of the skin issue prevents that, the aim is to get as dark a concentrate as possible under the skin to minimize that graphite look that "ONE" does have.
That's why the less tanned someone is the brighter the colors and the darker the blacks look if executed by someone with some knowledge. Free tattoos for Albinos.
