Default Tax Write Offs

could you for instance tattoo one of your close friends who you wouldnt charge to do his tattoo (because you are such good friends) have him do paperwork and write a price of what it would cost but have it for "promotional purposes and be a tax write off?

You might be able to make a case for that... But since it is such a unique write off, it could raise a flag or two.

If you get a 1099 for taxes you can use almost everything as a tax write off. But it has to be work related and you have to have some kind of receipt for it to be able to validate the expence. Promotional falls under discounts so it can be used. Which falls under Advertizing.

I don't use a CPA. I have an actual Tax Service who advises me on what i can and can't use. But I guess it's just not the same everywhere. Good Luck!
