Re: powder pigments vs pre dispersed
Jack -- you're gonna love 'em! Since I've been switching over to Waverly, I've had nothing to complain about with any of the colors (I haven't tried their black, I love mine so I see no reason to switch). I've blasted through the sample set (which is probably the only USEFUL sample set out there in terms of the colors included) and a few 2oz bottles just to make sure that I liked them. I'm still getting used to the consistancy -- they're thick as all hell, but they heal up beautifully. I'm convinced enough to start putting in real orders w/ Bill and get the 4 & 8 oz bottles.

they mix so much better too, being thicker, you can literally scoop up some color and mix on the tube instead of having your entire ink cap get muddled in one dip.

What about Dynamic colors anyone use those. I love Dynamic black it is sooo black and goes in smoothly. Thought about trying those. I like thick ink so I will have to get some waverly also does it mix well with eternal? Eternal color is great. I am kinda fasing out the intinze all but a few colors.

i dont if mixing them would be a good idea, since waverly is powdered and eternal is pre-dispersed, but bill would know better than i. i am getting real sick of eternal, i had all kinds of problems with their magentas last night, it was almost like no matter how hard you shake them, they just dont want to mix.
after christmas i am ordering waverly, most likely all the blues, greens, and magentas.

Re: powder pigments vs pre dispersed
Dynamic i would NOT mix with anything but Dynamic.. ive done it in the past and NOT had any good things to say about the result.. Dynamic IS good color i have tons of it in my arm.. and its pretty bright.. even 6 years old.. the Orange is bout done and faded out.. but their blues are still in there. i have a complete set.. i also have half a set of eternal, and i have a set of Waverly coming and a good amount of Starbright, and Intenze. its not a matter of which ones better but whats good for you.. try out a few colors.. check how well they work for what you are wanting to do and stick with em!
i found out that i didnt like Alla Prima AT ALL.. but some like it..
i like certain colors.. of one and certain of others..
i have herd that Dynamic was a box printing ink as well... well its worked good over the years. their black is good. ive found others that are better but its a Trusty black thats for sure!

Dynamic is pretty good stuff. I made some skin tone colors out of Dynamic and it's been working out pretty well for me. Their mixing white? I think I go through an 8oz every couple months.

Re: powder pigments vs pre dispersed
Thanks for the info. I think I will be getting a little of each and see for myself. Good to know about the prima all I have heard is bad thought about trying the white but... I am happy with my eternal white and will be trying the dynamic white too. I have always used sumi greywash and want to try something new. Heard talens makes some nice greywash ya'll got an opinion about that?
