Default Thinning Inks

Hi. Just wondering what you guys use to thin out your inks when needed. The inks I use are very thick concentrate, some are like molasses. I usually thin out with a little witch hazel, but here lately I've been thinning only when I need to in my caps with a bit of distilled water as I go. They tend to fly in pretty easily when thinned a bit, but sometimes I need it a little thick. What do you guys think?

I use Eternal so there isn't too much thining needed, I put a drop of water on the top of all my caps so they dont dry, but when I used Intenze I thined it with a little water... my boss uses wich hazel... works the same.

depends for me..

somtimes i use water

and sometimes i use a witch hazel glycerin mixture

it keeps everything in a good suspension and pretty consistant.

if i need a real smooth non agitated look (black and wash) i just dip right on into my rinse cup (water) strait from my black (what i use to line with)

when you buy greywash it usually is dilluted with crazy amounts of alchohol or witch hazel of some sorts (astringents)..which explains the very agitated (just finished red) look to it ...some people like that look, but its not my style.

sorry if im confusing people..just some of my theory. trial and error.

if you used just glycerin yes...
that s&!t is like syrup
but like i said i use a mixture of glycerin and witchhazel...

if i thin my inks, i like just the right consistancy, and glycerin allows you to just that, without making your ink so watery and messy.

but thats just me
