Default Probably a stupid question...

Regarding fading and sun damage - if you coat your tattoo with sunscreen does it still get damaged from prolonged sun exposure? Not sure what made me think of this, but I am curious.

a good rule of thumb is that anything that is bad for your skin is worse for your tattoo. It depends on how good the sunscreen works, how strong it is, and if you reapply it as often as you should.

You should look like Marlon Brando off of the island of Dr. Marot when you leave the house. Also if you can find it, real coa coa butter will bring your stuff back to life, way after your tattoo's healed though. Cause common sense warrants a kick to the nuts if you try to heal it with coa coa butter!

Neutrogena now offers a SPF 85 sunscreen. I will be getting that for the kids and my Tim Orth half sleeve.....I also always wear a swim shirt when I hit my neighborhood pool. Just common sense. I have seen too many admittedly bad tattoos that had faded from years of non sunscreen exposure that I am ultra paranoid now....
