Default spring question

ok i know about the rear spring or at least i was told, that a thick short spring will make the machine hit hard and fast and a long thin spring runs slow and soft, right?well what about the front spring?what does the thickness of the front spring determine?

Not getting personal, but if you're tattooing, you should already know this...This is soooooooo basic. Getting to the question though. The front spring is the timing spring. It determines the speed of the machine. Thick spring...hard hitting..(Liners)...Thin Spring....Soft hitting....(shaders)...I'm not one for mis matching front and rear springs although a lot of artist do...whatever works for you. I usually run 18 gauge on liners and shaders, although my armature bar weights are different. Light a-bar on liners and heavey on the shaders....

This may help, but getting in a studio is where you need to be. If you were, basic questions like this, you would already know. If you are in a studio, then ask questions, if they can't answer these type questions, then seek out another studio to work at.

i know that the front spring is the timeing spring.i thought how hard it hit was determined by the back spring.the reason for my question is im try to get in to machine building.plus i havent been tattooing long.so i havent really got to play around with differnt sping variations.
