Im hearing this is the best PS out period, smooth power output and a slimmer smaller overall size than the previous model, I would imagine it saves a ton of space on the work table now......looks like a good buy.

the fact that it can be table mounted so you snatch it off the counter like i have my ems 300 is nice. also the clipcord and pedal plug ins are in the back so you don't snatch those out.

as far as performance, it's got a clean and solid power output just like the ems. I can't notice anything spectacular. i know the button sensitivity is annoying. trying to scroll up or down a 1/10 of a volt is a pain in the butt. U either have to tap it slowly once per 1/10 which takes a while or if you try holding it down it shoots 2 volts in whatever direction your holding. i never use my presets so this touchiness annoys me. otherwise i can't complain.

had terrible experience with eikon power supply's and heard others had issues also.I got an Instek since it was the only power supply swash drive recommended and would warranty.I love it cause it has a course voltage and fine voltage so you can seriously fine tune the volts. Its duel lab and it has some kind of internal voltage governor that keeps the voltage the same no matter what the load draw is.Very clean power supply and the pedal that comes with it is bulletproof.Instek builds alot of power supplies for the medical industry .I did alot of research on the company.Make sure if you are getting one to get the real one and not a knock off.

Never going back to Eikon for my power supply......Critical is just unbeatable imo.

Instek is THE MOVE! Period. That's the first one I ever owned, and the only one I never complained about. Except that its f'n big and heavy. My swashdrive keeps tripping the breaker in the Eikon 300. Anyone try a swash on the 400? How about on the Critical? I like that little thing too. Can it handle a swashdrive?

I know the ems-400 has a rotary mode. I can't say anything else. only rotary i use is a shagbuilt canister and it runs perfect on the ems300 and 400 in both modes
