Talking Tattooing necks.

Hey guys...quick question.i have been tattooing about three years and i notice i have the most trouble tattooing on necks.i dont know if its the skin i have trouble with or the way i tattoo who knows.i know that my boss tattoos with his machine kinda cranked up and just goes a little more shallow and to be honest it seems to work really well for him,but when i try that it doesnt really work out that well.i can never get things as solid as i want them on a neck (back of neck, sides anything) please gimme a few points.how to run the machine? anything maybe to make it slightly easier on me. thanks a bunch guys,

two words - SKIN STRETCH - thats is the key to necks - you have to have a flat hard surface tension for application to go smoothly and necks are one of the harder places to achieve this consistently.

thats whats up.

I agree with Bond on this.....I say do whatever you have to do to get that skin stretched......If it looks solid stretched then once its back in the relaxed position it will be beyond solid...

Sprechen of ze neck//throat...
How about does the throat feel?

I have the side of my neck, and back tattooed, and my throat appointment is drawing closer -- plus I'm a total puss.

true man Stretch is the key. Is it a side of the neck tattoo? What it works good for me, is to tattoo necks while the person is sitting straight on a chair. What you do is to put a brand new roll of paper towel in the opposite side of the tattoo area, between the clavicle and head. Let the person rest his head on the roll of paper towel, that way you'll get a tighter surface with less efforts. This position is not too comfortable for the customer but it works well. I did a little neck tattoo on a girl the other day and she said that the position bothered her more than the pain, but I had no problem tattooing.

Running the machine fast does not relate much to the area as it has to do more with how fast you work.
