Henry is an 8 month old dog who was blinded in his left eye by a heartless teenager who shot him with a BB gun. He was brought to the Shelter the day after Christmas and held pending a cruelty investigation. Unfortunately, the city police did not get the names of the eye witnesses to this cruel assault and there was not enough evidence. Henry has been released from his cruelty hold only to find his life in danger. The shelter is out of space and Henry is out of time. Without a home, young Henry will be euthanized. Henry weighs 40 pounds. The shelter vets consistently rate him NO CONCERN. He scored MILD on his SAFER test. The Evaluator says: "great pet for experienced owner, has lots of energy but too much for a home with young children." It's hard to believe that Henry still trusts in human kindness, but he does. He is a testament to the unconditional love of a dog, in spite of the harm that was inflicted upon him. Henry says, "I may be blind in one eye, but it is with my heart that I see fully. Won't you give me a chance to show you how much love I have to give?" When you call the shelter, please be sure to reference Henry's ID number A743274.
