Re: need some help getting a apprenticeship!
Conor, Would you mind if i steal that schpeal of yours? (by "steal" i mean copy for potential apprentices to read giving full credit to you for writing it in the first place) It's so damn hard for them to understand just what they need to to get through and apprenticeship and why they need to do it.

Yeah man, go for it.
Hopefully it will take out a little bit of the brainwashing television has done, and get people on the right track to help progress this industry.

Thanks bro. I don't think it's all tv, with the economy the way it is there's a lot of artist taking advantage of the situation by charging for apprenticeships with short contracts and not teaching anything.

Re: need some help getting a apprenticeship!
This is a great thread...considering I am getting out of the military and this is what I want for my future.
There are also others in the threads(sorry don't have them handy) that talk a lot about this subject.
I would never want to learn from a school or try and teach myself...although others have done it and been successful. In todays time it is easier to find an apprenticeship than say(s&!t I am showing my age) 16 years ago. Plus technology has changed so much over the years...So as soon as I get my ass out of the military I will be talking to some one about starting an apprenticeship (cough Dave).
