gray wash mix

i just started to use sumi lineing ink,and would like to know how to mix a grey wash out of the liner ink,any suggestions?

Use a paper towel, and put one drop of black on it. then break down your pigment and continue to put a drop on the paper towel until you get the tone that you are looking for.
