Out of Phase

If anyone has seen stargate sg-1, you know those episodes where the team (mainly daniel) is temporarily shifted into another dimension parallel to ours where they can walk through walls and such.

The thing that always bothered me was.. if they were out of phase with our normal dimension of space-time and can walk through physical objects we perceive as being solid, why didn't they fall through the floor as well?

I had the same question on a Startrek episode. Why not fall through the floor as well?

Then I realized that the episode would be really short if they fell through the floor and floated away in space without a space suit....

It is TV man. That's all.
